Introduction

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the International Book of Organizations Index ("IBOX"), including its website, digital platforms, reference directories, e-books, organization registration and indexing services, member portal, certificates, communications, publications, and related services.

IBOX is a product and global initiative of the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG).

By accessing or using IBOX, submitting an organization or member profile, creating or accessing an account, requesting registration, receiving an IBOX Registration Number, applying for or receiving a WIG Certificate, or otherwise using any IBOX service, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, please do not use IBOX.

1. IBOX Purpose and Services

The International Book of Organizations Index ("IBOX") is a global reference, documentation, indexing, directory, and digital e-book platform developed as a product and initiative of the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG).

IBOX is designed to document, index, present, connect, and promote eligible organizations, institutions, associations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), educational institutions, research bodies, sports organizations, cultural groups, Indigenous organizations, community-based organizations, and other relevant organizational entities.

The purpose of IBOX is to create a structured and accessible international platform where organizations and members can present relevant information about their identity, history, objectives, activities, achievements, publications, initiatives, and contributions.

IBOX serves primarily as:

  • an international reference directory;
  • an organizational indexing platform;
  • a digital documentation platform;
  • a reference publication and e-book;
  • an organizational visibility platform;
  • a networking and communication platform; and
  • a development initiative supporting the objectives of WIG and its participating organizations and members.

Through IBOX, eligible organizations and members may have the opportunity to:

  • register an organization or profile;
  • submit relevant information for review and indexing;
  • receive an IBOX Registration Number, where applicable;
  • receive a WIG Certificate, where applicable;
  • be included in an IBOX reference directory or digital e-book, where approved;
  • increase organizational visibility and discoverability;
  • present organizational activities, achievements, and initiatives;
  • participate in networking and collaboration opportunities; and
  • contribute to the wider development of WIG and its global community.

IBOX may provide services and features including:

  • organization listings and directory profiles;
  • organization registration and indexing;
  • digital directories and e-books;
  • organization submission and review processes;
  • assignment of IBOX Registration Numbers, where applicable;
  • WIG Certificates and other recognition materials, where applicable;
  • member portal access;
  • organization profile management and update requests;
  • publications and reference materials;
  • news, announcements, events, and galleries;
  • networking and communication opportunities; and
  • other services developed to support the objectives of IBOX and WIG.

The availability of any service or feature may change from time to time.

2. Free Service

IBOX is currently provided as a free service by the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG).

No fee is currently charged for the basic registration or inclusion of an eligible organization or member on the IBOX platform, unless a separate service, programme, event, publication, product, or activity is expressly identified as having applicable charges in the future.

The availability of registration, indexing, certificates, registration numbers, publications, member access, and other services may depend on applicable eligibility criteria, review procedures, operational requirements, and approval processes.

WIG and IBOX reserve the right to introduce, modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue services or features where reasonably necessary.

3. User and Account Responsibilities

Users are responsible for ensuring that all information provided to IBOX is accurate, complete, and current.

By using IBOX, you agree to:

  • provide truthful and lawful information;
  • ensure that you are authorized to represent any organization you submit or register;
  • maintain accurate contact information;
  • protect account credentials and passwords;
  • protect one-time passwords (OTPs), verification codes, and access links;
  • notify IBOX if you believe unauthorized access has occurred;
  • use the website and member portal only for lawful purposes; and
  • comply with these Terms of Use and applicable laws.

Users must not:

  • share account access with unauthorized persons;
  • use another person's or organization's account without permission; or
  • falsely claim authority to represent an organization.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of IBOX is also subject to the applicable IBOX Privacy Policy.

IBOX may collect, process, store, and use personal and organizational information as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate and maintain the platform;
  • process registrations and submissions;
  • review organizational information;
  • maintain administrative records;
  • communicate with users and organizations;
  • manage member and directory services;
  • publish approved information; and
  • provide other relevant IBOX and WIG services.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary authority, rights, permissions, and consent to submit:

  • personal information;
  • organizational information;
  • contact details;
  • photographs and images;
  • documents and publications;
  • logos and trademarks; and
  • other materials submitted through IBOX.

Personal information will not normally be displayed publicly unless it is intentionally included in an approved public profile, publication, directory feature, or other clearly identified service.

IBOX and WIG will make reasonable efforts to handle information in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

5. Organization Registration and Submitted Information

When submitting an organization or profile to IBOX, you confirm that you are authorized to act on behalf of the relevant organization or otherwise have lawful authority to provide the submitted information.

Submitted information may include:

  • organization name;
  • legal or registration information, where applicable;
  • address and contact details;
  • country and location;
  • website and social media information;
  • representative information;
  • organizational history;
  • aims and objectives;
  • activities and programmes;
  • achievements and initiatives;
  • publications and documents;
  • affiliations and partnerships;
  • photographs, logos, and other materials; and
  • supporting documents or additional information.

You are responsible for ensuring that submitted information is:

  • accurate;
  • complete;
  • lawful;
  • appropriately authorized; and
  • not misleading.

Submission of information to IBOX does not automatically guarantee:

  • approval;
  • publication;
  • indexing;
  • listing;
  • assignment of an IBOX Registration Number;
  • issuance of a WIG Certificate;
  • membership status; or
  • acceptance of any submission.

IBOX may request additional information, clarification, corrections, or supporting documents where reasonably necessary.

6. Accuracy and Verification of Organization Data

IBOX may review submitted information, request clarification, approve or decline submissions, and permit approved organizations to update relevant information.

IBOX does not guarantee that every submission will be approved or that all submitted information can be independently verified.

While reasonable efforts may be made to maintain reliable and useful organizational information, IBOX and WIG do not guarantee that all information is:

  • complete;
  • accurate;
  • current;
  • independently verified; or
  • suitable for every purpose.

Organizations remain responsible for information submitted on their behalf and should notify IBOX of significant corrections or updates.

No Guarantee of Official Recognition

The inclusion, listing, indexing, publication, display, registration, approval, assignment of an IBOX Registration Number, issuance of a WIG Certificate, inclusion in an IBOX directory or e-book, or any other appearance on IBOX does not automatically constitute official recognition, government recognition, legal incorporation, statutory registration, accreditation, licensing, regulatory approval, tax exemption, charitable status, or endorsement by any government, intergovernmental organization, or other competent authority.

IBOX is not a government regulatory authority.

An IBOX Registration Number is an identification and indexing number issued within the IBOX system for relevant administrative, documentation, directory, and reference purposes.

A WIG Certificate is issued in connection with the relevant WIG or IBOX programme, registration, participation, recognition, or approval process, where applicable.

Unless expressly stated otherwise by an authorized competent authority, neither an IBOX Registration Number nor a WIG Certificate should be interpreted as government registration, legal incorporation, statutory approval, accreditation, or regulatory licensing.

Users and third parties should conduct their own appropriate verification before relying on information published on IBOX for legal, financial, regulatory, professional, or other significant decisions.

7. Acceptable and Prohibited Use

You may use IBOX for lawful informational, registration, directory, indexing, publication, networking, communication, and member-related purposes.

You must not:

  • submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or unlawful information;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • falsely claim authority to represent an organization;
  • submit unauthorized content;
  • attempt to access accounts or systems without authorization;
  • interfere with website security or technical systems;
  • interfere with authentication, OTP, CAPTCHA, forms, or verification systems;
  • upload viruses, malware, or harmful code;
  • distribute spam or abusive communications;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse users or representatives;
  • systematically extract or misuse directory information;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy, cultural, or other rights; or
  • use IBOX for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.

IBOX may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action.

8. User-Submitted Content

User-submitted content may include:

  • organization information;
  • profile update requests;
  • messages;
  • photographs and images;
  • supporting documents;
  • logos;
  • publications;
  • comments;
  • application materials; and
  • other content submitted through IBOX.

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

By submitting content to IBOX, you grant IBOX and WIG a non-exclusive permission to store, process, review, reproduce where reasonably necessary, and display such content for the purpose of:

  • operating and maintaining IBOX;
  • reviewing submissions;
  • maintaining organizational records;
  • communicating with users;
  • providing directory and member services;
  • publishing approved organizational information;
  • preparing directories and digital e-books; and
  • supporting the objectives of IBOX and WIG.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit such content.

IBOX may request modification of, restrict, or remove content that appears inaccurate, unlawful, unauthorized, inappropriate, or inconsistent with these Terms.

9. Respect for Indigenous Rights and Cultural Heritage

IBOX and the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG) recognize the importance of respecting Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous communities, cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, traditional cultural expressions, customs, traditions, and community rights.

Users must not submit, publish, reproduce, or share information, images, recordings, documents, or other materials without appropriate rights, permissions, or consent where required.

Users are encouraged to respect:

  • Indigenous cultural protocols;
  • traditional customs and practices;
  • community sensitivities;
  • traditional knowledge;
  • cultural heritage;
  • traditional cultural expressions; and
  • applicable intellectual and cultural rights.

The inclusion or publication of information on IBOX does not transfer ownership, control, or rights over Indigenous cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, or traditional cultural expressions to IBOX or WIG.

Where concerns are raised regarding culturally sensitive, inaccurate, unauthorized, or inappropriate content, IBOX may review the matter and, where appropriate:

  • request clarification;
  • request modification;
  • restrict access;
  • temporarily remove content; or
  • permanently remove relevant content.

10. Intellectual Property

The IBOX website, platform structure, software, branding, page designs, templates, graphics, interface elements, databases, and original content created by IBOX or WIG are owned by or licensed to IBOX, WIG, or their respective rights holders.

You may not copy, modify, reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, or commercially exploit protected IBOX or WIG materials except:

  • where permitted by applicable law;
  • where expressly authorized; or
  • where the relevant material is subject to separate permissions or licences.

Names, logos, documents, descriptions, photographs, publications, and other materials submitted by organizations remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

Nothing in these Terms automatically transfers ownership of intellectual property from a user or organization to IBOX or WIG.

11. Public Organization Information

Approved organization information may be displayed publicly through:

  • IBOX directories;
  • organization profiles;
  • indexes;
  • reference publications;
  • digital e-books;
  • websites;
  • relevant WIG or IBOX communications; and
  • other approved platform features.

Public information may include:

  • organization name;
  • acronym;
  • country and city;
  • website;
  • IBOX Registration Number, where applicable;
  • descriptive profile information;
  • organizational activities and objectives;
  • achievements and initiatives; and
  • other organization-level information suitable for public indexing or publication.

Personal or representative information is not intended for public display unless:

  • it is intentionally submitted for publication;
  • it is included in an approved public profile;
  • the user has provided appropriate authorization; or
  • it is required for a clearly identified platform feature.

IBOX may determine the appropriate format and presentation of public information.

12. Third-Party Links

IBOX may provide links to:

  • organization websites;
  • partner websites;
  • social media platforms;
  • maps;
  • external resources; and
  • other third-party services.

These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes.

IBOX and WIG do not control and are not responsible for the content, security, availability, accuracy, privacy practices, policies, or services of third-party websites.

Users access third-party websites and services at their own discretion and subject to the applicable terms and policies of those providers.

13. Disclaimers

IBOX is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

While IBOX aims to maintain professional services and useful organizational records, IBOX and WIG do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted availability;
  • error-free operation;
  • complete security against all technical risks;
  • permanent availability of every service;
  • approval of every submission;
  • completeness of all records;
  • accuracy of all user-submitted information; or
  • independent verification of every organization.

IBOX provides information primarily for:

  • reference;
  • documentation;
  • indexing;
  • directory;
  • e-book;
  • visibility;
  • networking; and
  • communication purposes.

Information published on IBOX should not automatically be considered legal, financial, regulatory, professional, governmental, or accreditation advice.

Users should seek appropriate independent advice or verification where necessary.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IBOX, the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG), and their operators, administrators, representatives, partners, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or loss-of-data damages arising from or relating to:

  • use of or inability to use IBOX;
  • organization submissions;
  • directory listings;
  • indexing;
  • member portal access;
  • reliance on published information;
  • IBOX Registration Numbers;
  • WIG Certificates;
  • digital e-books or publications;
  • third-party links or services;
  • temporary interruption or technical unavailability; or
  • user-submitted information or content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

15. Indemnification

You are responsible for the information, content, documents, images, and other materials that you submit, upload, or provide to IBOX.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless IBOX, the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG), and their operators, administrators, representatives, partners, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or reasonable expenses arising directly from:

  • false or misleading information submitted by you;
  • unauthorized representation of a person or organization;
  • infringement of the rights of another person, community, organization, or third party;
  • unauthorized use or submission of third-party content;
  • violation of applicable laws; or
  • violation of these Terms of Use.

This provision applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

16. Suspension or Termination

IBOX may suspend, restrict, remove, decline, or terminate access to:

  • submissions;
  • accounts;
  • member portal features;
  • listings;
  • registration numbers; or
  • content.

Where information or activity appears to be:

  • inaccurate or misleading;
  • unauthorized;
  • unlawful;
  • abusive or harmful;
  • fraudulent;
  • infringing;
  • culturally inappropriate or sensitive without appropriate authorization;
  • unsafe; or
  • inconsistent with these Terms.

Where reasonably appropriate, IBOX may provide an opportunity for clarification or correction.

Suspension or removal of content does not necessarily constitute a finding of legal wrongdoing.

IBOX may retain certain records where reasonably necessary for administrative, security, legal, archival, or operational purposes, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

17. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a concern, complaint, or dispute relating to IBOX or these Terms of Use, users are encouraged to first contact the IBOX administration team or the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG).

The parties should make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter through:

  • good-faith communication;
  • mutual discussion; and
  • amicable resolution.

These efforts should be made before pursuing formal legal action, where appropriate.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent legal remedies where such action is necessary and permitted by applicable law.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the applicable laws governing the legal entity responsible for the operation of IBOX and the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG), subject to mandatory laws and regulations that may apply.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through amicable discussion or another mutually agreed process, the appropriate legal jurisdiction shall be determined in accordance with the applicable laws governing the responsible operating entity and the relevant legal circumstances.

This section should be updated with the specific country, state, and court jurisdiction once the legal registration and operating structure of the responsible IBOX/WIG entity are formally confirmed.

19. Changes to These Terms

IBOX may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • platform services;
  • operational practices;
  • legal or regulatory requirements;
  • security requirements; or
  • other relevant developments.

Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised Last Updated date.

Continued use of IBOX after updated Terms are published may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Users are encouraged to review these Terms periodically.
