ABOUT WIG WILTON AWARDS
The WIG Wilton Award is an international honour established by the World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG) in 2025 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional, eminent and sustained service in their respective fields.
The Award is named in recognition of Chief Wilton Littlechild, whose significant contributions to Indigenous peoples, sports and culture provide an inspiration for recognizing individuals whose work creates meaningful value for people, communities and society.
The WIG Wilton Award recognizes that outstanding service can take many forms. It may arise through excellence in professional achievement, education, science, sports, arts, medicine, literature, social work, industry, community service or other fields of meaningful contribution.
PURPOSE OF THE AWARD
The WIG Wilton Award seeks to:
Recognize exceptional and eminent service.
Celebrate individuals who have made meaningful contributions in their respective fields.
Encourage excellence, leadership, innovation and social responsibility.
Provide international recognition for significant achievements and service.

ELIGIBILITY
The WIG Wilton Award is open to individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of race, occupation, position or gender.
Nominations may be submitted for individuals who have demonstrated significant achievement, exceptional service, leadership, innovation, dedication or sustained contribution in their respective field.
The Award is intended to recognize individual achievement and service, while the impact of the nominee's work may extend to communities, institutions, organizations, nations or the international community.

The WIG Wilton Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement, eminent service, leadership, and meaningful contribution in their respective fields. Recognizing excellence in business, entrepreneurship, industry, commerce, corporate leadership, innovation and economic development.
3. Sports & Indigenous Games
Recognizing athletes, coaches, administrators, researchers and organizations contributing to sports, traditional sports, indigenous games and sports development.
4. Medicine & Healthcare
Recognizing distinguished contributions to medicine, healthcare, medical research, public health, healthcare education and patient service.
5. Science, Engineering & Technology
Recognizing significant achievements in scientific research, engineering, technology, innovation and advancement of knowledge.

WIG Wilton Award – Selection Criteria
The WIG Wilton Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement, eminent service, leadership, dedication, and meaningful impact in their respective fields. The selection process is based on the quality, significance, consistency, and documented evidence of the nominee’s contribution.
Outstanding Achievement
Assessment of the nominee’s significant accomplishments, professional achievements, awards, recognitions, publications, projects, or other measurable outcomes.
Eminent Service
Recognition of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service to their profession, community, institution, society, or a broader cause.
Leadership & Vision
Consideration of the nominee’s ability to demonstrate responsible leadership, inspire others, develop initiatives, and create a positive direction within their field.
Contribution to Society
Assessment of how the nominee’s work has benefited individuals, communities, institutions, or society through meaningful and constructive contributions.
Excellence & Professionalism
Evaluation of demonstrated excellence, professional standards, knowledge, expertise, commitment, and dedication within the nominee’s respective field.
